The R16 Urban Arts Festival and World B-Boy Competitions This Weekend in Seoul!

Thanks to Sunny Lee of R-16 Korea for the press pass!

I will be heading to the Olympic Park this weekend to watch the World B-Boy Championships and to enjoy the Urban Arts Festival! I will be able to start blogging about it by Sunday...with tons of photos, of course.

I will definitely pray for NO! rain this weekend, only mild temperatures.

I was there at last year's championships where the energy of the competitors and the audience almost brought the whole Olympic Hall down!  And last year, the Pinoy b-boys went all the way to the semis.

If you haven't got the tickets yet, do reserve them now and I will see you at the Olympic Park this Saturday and Sunday, July 2 and 3!

2011 Seoul FIVB Challenger: Beach Volleyball On A Hot Summer Afternoon (Part 4)

With the 2011 Seoul FIVB Challenger's final match over, it was time to award the top three teams.
(staff running to prepare for the awarding ceremony)

(I hope the guy holding up the board doesn't get tired)

                       (with their US$8,000 cash prize)

Glückwünsche to the winners!

(Britta and Karla being interviewed for local TV news)

(showing off their prized metals, er, medals)

(Biking along the Han River, anyone?)

2011 Seoul FIVB Challenger: Beach Volleyball On A Hot Summer Afternoon (Part 3)

The all-German final at the 2011 Seoul FIVB Challenger took only two sets, with Karla and Britta winning over their compatriots Stephanie and Anni.
(the winners will receive a one-year supply of
                          dried mangoes. Ha-ha-ha!)
(starting the match with a handshake)

The front seats of the bleachers would have been a perfect spot to take photos from, but since I arrived late, I just moved around and took photos from all the corners of the court.

The best way, of course, was to walk around the 'beach' volleyball court with sandals or on barefoot like the players. My white Nike Air Presto turned brown. I had to wash them when I got home!

                                                      (good luck, girls!)

                                                            (cleaning the line)

                                                             (guten Tag!)

                                                                 (time out)
                                   (the ball was in!)
                                 (end of the match)

2011 Seoul FIVB Challenger: Beach Volleyball On A Hot Summer Afternoon (Part 2)

I was able to catch the last points of the bronze medal match between the teams from the USA and Switzerland. The Europeans defeated the Americans.

(the Swiss and US teams playing for the bronze)

                          (the Swiss team celebrating)

And as I moved around the tournament area, trying to enjoy the event under the hot summer sun, I took these photos...

Who Prayed For The Rain Today?

Who the hell prayed for the rain today? I certainly didn't!

My Saturday tennis was washed out.  The only chance to lose weight after a week of pizza and pasta....again!

With nothing else to do but watch the Wimbledon matches, blog, Facebook and do my laundy (ha-ha-ha!), I headed off to Itaewon for a photo exhibition and some burritos.
(clothes not wet, but on sale. Ha-ha-ha!)
As expected, wet roads and wet people mixed with umbrellas and traffic along its main street.

I hope nobody prays for rain next weekend.

I need to lose weight after these burritos.
